Terrain Park Safety

Freestyle terrain may include half-pipes as well as terrain parks and terrain features. They are provided for your enjoyment and offer adventure, challenge, and fun. However, freestyle terrain use, like skiing and riding exposes you to risk of serious injury. Prior to using freestyle terrain it is your responsibility to familiarize yourself with all instruction and warnings and to follow "your responsibility code". (as follows)

  1. Freestyle Terrain contains man-made and natural terrain variation.
  2. Freestyle Terrain changes constantly due to weather and use.
  3. Inspect Freestyle Terrain before using and throughout the day.
  4. In jumping and using this terrain you assume risk of serious injury.
  5. Be courteous and respect others.
  6. One user on a terrain feature at a time
  7. Never jump blindly, use a spotter when necessary. Look before you leap!
  8. It is your responsibility to control your body on the ground and in the air.
  9. Always clear the landing area quickly.
  10. Always ride or ski in control and within your ability.

In addition to the above guidelines, please read below for those unique to Nashoba Valley.

  1. We strongly encourage that all users wear a helmet.
  2. No Inverted tricks.
  3. No "hipping" jumps or ramps (this is a practice in which users jump diagonally off the side of a ramp or a jump).
  4. Do not stop on top of, or in the landing area of any feature.
  5. Do not stop on the face of a feature then try to climb up onto it. If you don't carry enough speed to get up it, please slide down and go around.
  6. Do not ski over features with a small child between your legs.
  7. Do not "rapid fire" or "train" jump over features.
  8. Know your ability, do not attempt a feature that is beyond your ability level.
  9. Show respect to all other users!
  10. The Terrain Park is not an area to learn how to ski or board in. There are many trails much more suitable for this purpose and we strongly recommend that all users are able to ski on "blue square" terrain in control before attempting features in the terrain park.
